VICTORY is a group of active, associate, and sustaining members.  Incoming active members make a four year commitment to work year-round supporting our events.

Our Cattle Baron’s Ball is most unique and is one of the top gala/fundraising events in the United States for the American Cancer Society.  Corporations, donors, vendors, and Houston’s finest join together to put on a huge gala with top entertainers, Texas cuisine, games, auctions, and much fun to accomplish this end.

Holiday Shopping Card is Houston’s most anticipated fall fundraising project.  Shoppers donate $60 to purchase a card, and merchants ante up a 20% discount on their purchases during an eleven day shopping spree.  The Holiday Shopping Card is a win, win, win concept which really works and benefits the buyer, the merchant, and the American Cancer Society.

Fundraising is not all we are about.  VICTORY hosts the Cattle Baron’s Children’s Party for pediatric oncology patients.  This event, totally underwritten with the cooperation of local hospitals and outpatient clinics is our gift to these brave children and their families.

In 1992, VICTORY began hosting the Baron’s Breakfast to honor major underwriters and supporters.  It is at this breakfast that VICTORY and the American Cancer Society present two very special awards: The Society Noble Visionary Award to those donors who have contributed $10,000 or more within the calendar year to our special events, and The Society Distinguished Visionary Award to those whose cumulative support exceeds $100,000 or in-kind donations valued at over $200,000.  The Trailblazer Award, which honors a very special individual or company for their longtime support, is presented by VICTORY.  In 2002, we began giving Hats Off Awards to those whose services have benefited us above and beyond monetary value.

In this our 20th year, we celebrate VICTORY’s mission and its commitment as a volunteer organization with superior standards.  Our accomplishments are a shining example of volunteerism at its finest.

No matter who or where we are, cancer touches all our lives.  We ask you to stand with us – together we can and will make a difference with our dollars, hearts, and courage.
